I enjoyed my stay at the RIU Cancun, especially the vibrant atmosphere and great dining options. however, the room situation left much to be desired, particularly due to the outdated facilities I encountered. The beach and pool areas were highlights, making it a lovely getaway despite some hiccups with the accommodation.

My stay at Riu Cancun was a mixed bag. The food had decent options, and the beach was beautiful, but poor service and noisy rooms left a lot to be desired. I felt let down overall, particularly given the hotel's reputation. 😕
Rooms
5.0
The rooms were basic and dated. My first room was dark with a tiny balcony that had limited views. However, after requesting an upgrade, I got a lovely room with an amazing ocean view, though the noise was still an issue.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly and helpful, others seemed reluctant to assist, making the experience inconsistent. I also faced issues with my requests being ignored at times.
Location

The hotel's location is great, with easy access to local nightlife and the beach. It's close to the strip, which I appreciated during my stay.
Dining
6.0
Dining options were decent, with a variety of choices available. The buffet had tasty dishes, but some specialty restaurants were closed during my stay, limiting my options further.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities like the pool and beach area were well-maintained; however, I was disappointed by the lack of a snack bar near the pool, which is common in all-inclusive resorts.

I had a great time at Riu Cancun, enjoying the beach and the lively atmosphere. but there were enough issues to warrant a lower rating. While the ocean view from my room was stunning, I encountered several inconveniences, from slow elevators to limited bathroom facilities. Overall, my experience was fun, but it could be improved with better communication and maintenance.
Rooms
6.0
The 12th-floor room offered a gorgeous ocean view and was cleaned daily, though it felt a bit damp and the beds were smaller than expected. privacy was lacking due to the window into the shower. The connecting door to the next room let in too much noise; earplugs are a must.
Service
6.0
The staff were largely friendly and helpful, though my experience with the reception wasn't ideal. I encountered issues with my room key and had to follow up several times for an extra bed. this lack of communication was frustrating.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location was fantastic, especially for nightlife, with the beach right at our feet and beautiful white sand. however, it could have benefited from additional sun coverage by the pool in the afternoon.
Dining
6.0
The buffet offered a great variety of tasty foods, though the specialty restaurants didn’t quite meet expectations. they were decent but not excellent, and the lack of room service was a bit disappointing.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities included a decent pool area and access to the beach, but the cramped bathrooms and slow elevators left something to be desired. and the nightclub experience could use some improvement.

I recently stayed at Riu Cancun (Adults Only) and overall, it was a mixed experience. The hotel has a lively atmosphere that caters to younger guests, which I found a bit overwhelming at times. The location is ideal for exploring nearby attractions, but the accommodations left a lot to be desired, particularly regarding cleanliness and service.
Rooms
5.0
The Junior Suite had a beautiful view, but cleanliness was a major issue, with hair on the couch and mold in the bathroom. It wasn't as spacious as I expected for the price I paid.
Service
5.0
While some staff members were friendly, the service was lacking overall. I felt neglected, as staff rarely checked in with us and I had issues getting towels on multiple occasions.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect for accessing shops and entertainment, but the hotel felt cramped and uncomfortable at times. I appreciated being close to the beach, even if the sand wasn't directly accessible.
Dining
5.0
Dining was disappointing; the buffet lacked variety and cleanliness, which made me eat off-resort more often. Specialty restaurants like the steakhouse were hard to get into, and the food quality wasn’t great.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities like the pools were nice, but they weren't cleaned properly, leaving trash floating around. Closing pools at 7pm seemed way too early for a resort.

Location

The resort is situated in a great area, close to many shops and right by the beach, which I loved for relaxing after meals.
Dining
5.0
The food was quite disappointing. The buffet lacked variety and cleanliness, and the midnight snacks were limited to microwaved options. I ended up eating off the resort more than on it.
Facilities

While the pools and common areas were nice, they could use better upkeep. I also found the towel exchange system frustrating, as they often ran out of towels.
